Rare Chinese Export Porcelain Armorial Plate, circa 1745
from the dinner service made for John, 5th Viscount Arbuthnott (see D. S. Howard, Chinese Armorial Porcelain, London, 1974, p.327), enamelled and gilt with the coat-of-arms, crest, coronet and motto LAUS DEO at the centre, a band of gilt spearheads in the well, and four harbour scenes of Plymouth and Macao.
