Reference:
Douglas Annand was an Australian graphic designer and artist active from 1931 and 1970. Well known for his vibrant poster celebrating the opening of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in 1932. He also did commercial works for Farmers, David Jones, Grace Brothers and Anthony Hordern. He created the ceiling of the Australian Pavilion for the 1937 Paris International Exhibition and in 1939, he was the design director for the Australian Pavilion at the New York’s Fair (awarded bronze medal). He won several prizes including the Sir John Sulman Prize in 1941, 1947 and 1951.
