Landscape or Symphony?
The same exhibition included this majestic landscape. The play of light and shade announcing Bill’s mastery over digital technology. A sensual poet of transition – from youth to maturity, dusk to dawn – this image evoked music. If the youth in the prior work was a conductor manqué, then this was the symphony he might be conducting. All Bill’s work allows imaginative space for the viewer’s thoughts to enter but, ultimately, it’s not the narrative – it’s the silence, the afterglow.
