There was rare alchemy at work on A CHEERY SOUL. A highlight from a decade spent working with writer Patrick White. It launched the Sydney Theatre Company, revealed an over-looked play as an Australian classic, returned White to writing for the stage, and established Robyn Nevin as a star. A highlight of my work with great designer Brian Thomson, it progressed the visual language of the Australian theatre.
