first 10ct gold, set with black enamel and encased in a fine and elaborate gold frame with interlocking, ‘C’ scrolls, set in the centre with three locks of deceased hair, surrounded by a border of natural seed pearls, reverse engraved ‘In memory of Ralph Cobb, died 21, September, 1852, aged 66 years’, together with second brooch, designed with interlocking ropes, inlaid with black enamel, with a central panel of plaited deceased hair (2)
