Bill and Ngaere enjoyed an intimate friendship with the artist Theo Meier and his wife Laiad. This work was acquired from the studio of the artist by Bill Geddes and his wife Ngaere. In 1967 Bill and Ngaere Geddes were living in Chiang Mai, Thailand, undertaking his fieldwork among the highlander minorities in Northern Thailand
