Silver Polishes Up For Top Results

A packed room attended the silver sale at Shapiro Auctioneers on the evening of Wednesday 9th May. 136 lots were on offer and the sale cleared 92% by lot and 120% by value. From the Serventy Collection of Western Australia, a record price was achieved for an Alexander Dick dessert spoon. The estate collection from Barbara Sheridan Donnay and the late Gilbert J. Donnay of Queensland attracted keen competition from the phone bidders but the bulk of the collection remained with collectors in Australia.
